Trujillo Plains

Trujillo Plains

These are open plains lying close to Trujillo, bordered by the CCV-50 road and the old N-V between Ibahernando and Trujillo, the EX-391 between Trujillo and Ruanes and the minor road connecting Ruanes with Ibahernando. The area is mostly open pseudo steppe. There are also areas of oak scrub. The main water course is the River Magasca. The ecological characteristics of this protected area has favoured the presence of a rich steppe bird community. The populations of La Cumbre, Ibahernando and Trujillo lie partly within this SPA.
